As East Coast sessions start ramping back up, I’m reflecting back of some of my favorite images from this past Fall in Charlotte, NC. This session with Lola, Teddy, Chunk and Roxy had me and their mom running around like crazy…all while completely laughing our faces off!!! This was quite the little pack! I think each…
Back on a beautiful day in October, I met one of the sweetest and gorgeous black Labs ever! This smiley handsome guy is Rip. Rip is a repeat client's boyfriend's dog and we had this secret special session as a surprise for his birthday. We got sooooo lucky and hit the weather right before our 5 or 6 weeks straight of rain and right when the leaves started to turn.
I know it took a ton of control for Rip's mom to keep this a secret...but she totally...(click on the image above to continue reading)
This is going to be a special week over in my blog world! Each day this week I'm going to feature one dog from the pack you see below. This amazing foursome is comprised of (from left to right) Brady, Beckham, Sunday, and Camden.
Over a two day period, we wandered the streets of Historic Charleston capturing all the lovely architecture, greenery, and super-cool textures we could. We dodged raindrops, other dogs, tourists, horses, and more, but these dogs didn't skip a beat! I was amazed at how focused... (click on the image above to continue reading)
I tell you what. I think dogs are absolutely gorgeous and special animals. However, Karma here knows he's extra fabulous! He is a German Shorthair Pointer that can frequently be seen in the show ring. In fact, after our session together, I went to one of his shows and he won Best of Breed right then and there! Right?!?!?!
Karma's mom spends a great deal of time with him...working on structure, core, agility, etc. She taught me so much during our chats and I feel... (click on the image above to continue reading)
Fall is my hands down busiest time of year. But, when I get a call for an Angel Session, I will do everything in my power to squeeze a session in. That's exactly what happened with Jager, Kona, and Bubbles.
Jäger, a very handsome Doberman, was the main focus of our shoot as he was battling the dreaded "C" word...cancer. The cancer had already resulted in the removal of... (click on the image above to continue reading)
The idea of an Angel Session is never easy on a pet parent. Therefore, I try to keep the shoot lighthearted and fun and we try to focus on the positive. For example, the evening of Ollie and Snoopy's session, the weather cooperated gorgeously and we had a great, relaxing time hanging out around the house. We had scheduled plenty of time since we were starting with a kitty (and you never know how they'll react to a session) so everyone had the chance to be... Saturday morning marked a first for the American Cancer Society. It was their first Bark for Life event held at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC. The morning was cold and gloomy but spirits were high as a large group of dogs and their people came out to walk in support of the battle against human and animal cancers. The one mile walk began in Birkdale, circled through the adjoining neighborhood and finished along the wetlands behind the Village. The rain held off long enough to finish the walk and even include some Just for Fun contests. Many thanks to all of the participants that braved the cool weather and came out to support a good cause. I always enjoy events put on by the American Cancer Society and this was certainly no exception. I enjoyed everyone's laughs, smiling faces, and most importantly, their pups.
I'll start off the parade of dogs with the 2011 Canine Ambassador. This is Peyton, a playful 10-year-young Lab who was diagnosed with a Grade II myxofibrosarcoma that was removed from his ribs in late 2010 and is now cancer free. Isn't he handsome...This little fellow wrapped up the end of the pack. He wasn't too keen on walking very far... This was a shoe-in for best kisser!
For more photos from the event, click HERE. Enjoy! All of the images will be up by Tuesday, March 29th at 5pm.
If you missed Bark for Life - Lake Norman, don't fear! ACS is hosting another Bark for Life event in uptown Charlotte on Saturday, April 9th at the WFNZ Dog House. I invite you to come out and walk for a cause!
Thanks again to all of the great participants!!!
