Q: Do you photograph any pets other than dogs?
A: Absolutely! I will photograph any pet! Well, anything but spiders (sorry tarantula owners).
Q: How do I choose a location? Do you have any suggestions?
A: The best locations are places your dog is comfortable. Your backyard, a local park, or areas along your daily walk are great places to start. I've photographed clients taking their dogs out on hikes, out for coffee at the local Starbucks, or with them to window shop in their favorite urban district. Telling a story of your dog's favorite routine is always a great theme to work with.
Q: My dog is shy, hyper, nervous, untrained, etc. Is it still possible to do a photo shoot?
A: Yes! Any dog can turn into a model with the right amount of patience, treats, toys, and understanding!
Q: My dog needs to remain on a leash. Is that ok for photos?
A: Safety is always a major concern so I actually prefer your dog stay on a leash. Typically I'll bring along a very long lead so your dog can roam as if he/she were completely free. Most of the time leashes can be removed in post-production if they distract from the image.
Q: What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
A: Weather is very important for the success of the session as I prefer to shoot with sunny skies a couple hours before sunset. If the weather is cloudy or rainy, we can simply reschedule for another day.
Q: Can I/my family be in the pictures?
A: Sure thing! I love capturing the relationship between pets and their people! Please keep in mind that I don't shoot posed family portraits so your images will have a more candid feel.
Q: Can I bring along a friend/spouse/kids to the shoot?
A: Unless the people in question are going to be in the pictures, it is best if they stay at home. The less distractions your pet has, the better he/she will perform at the shoot.
Q: How long before the images are ready?
A: Your images will be ready for viewing 2 weeks from your session date. Your prints and products will be ready 2-4 weeks from the time your order is placed and/or designs are approved. Please schedule accordingly if you are planning a session for a gift or special occasion.
Q: Do you offer on-location Mini-Sessions?
A: No, I don't offer on-location mini-sessions for several reasons. 1) Your pet's comfort is top priority. Often times, mini-sessions are set up at an unfamiliar location and your pet can get distracted, stressed, etc and it will reflect in the images. 2) Some pets take a while to get comfortable with the camera. Again, mini-sessions are usually shorter sessions which don't allow me time to condition your pet to the camera. This can turn into a bad situation for everyone involved. 3) I want to give my clients a custom experience. Each client, pet, and session is unique and mini-sessions tend to strip away everything that makes a full session personal.
Q: What types of payment do you accept? Do you have payment plans?
A: I accept cash, checks, credit cards, and Paypal. Yes, I do offer payment plans customized just for you. Your order will not be placed until 50% of the balance is received and no products will be delivered until the total balance is paid in full.
