Those of you that know me well probably already know that I am in love with the National Parks in this country. They are the most gorgeous and pristine places with a uniqueness all of their own. My goal is to eventually visit every single one - all 58!  Well, yesterday I got to cross another name off of the to-visit list...Congaree! Congaree National Park just recently became an official National Park and I was thrilled to discover that fact upon moving back to the east coast. Located just outside of Columbia, Congaree is just a 2 hour drive from north Charlotte. The fam and I got to spend the afternoon walking the elevated boardwalk that hovers above the Congaree River floodplan. Next time I go, I'm going to explore Cedar Creek on the canoe trail - the perfect way to see some of the more isolated areas! Definitely check this place out!

Here are a couple pics from the visit to my 26th National Park...

This place reminds me of the backdrops you see in drawings of dinosaurs...

And of course some black-and-whites. The first one is so delicate...
